#IrishFictionFortnight DAY 1 - 'UNRAVELLING OLIVER' BY LIZ NUGENT. SIGNED COPY TO GIVEAWAY!

#IRISHFICTIONFORNIGHT - DAY 1

Today is day 1 of this 2 weeks of all things Irish Fiction!   I will be recommending some great reads, sharing some book memories and giving away some great titles.  All in the name of Irish Fiction.  I hope some of you will find a new favourite author, or that some may even try Irish Fiction for the first time, and become hooked.  We are a small island, but traditionally, we have the greatest authors and this tradition is not going anywhere....

Keep checking twitter @margaretbmadden or facebook.com/MargaretBonassMadden for updates, more recommendations as well as spot prizes.  All giveaways are open INT.  A massive thank you to the authors and publishers who have agreed to spread the word and have organised some great books for giveaways.

Happy Reading, and looking forward to seeing what you are reading, or planning to read this fortnight.

'UNRAVELLING OLIVER' BY LIZ NUGENT

Oliver Ryan is a handsome and charismatic success story. He lives in the suburbs with his wife, Alice, who illustrates his award-winning children's books and gives him her unstinting devotion. Their life together is one of enviable privilege and ease - enviable until, one evening after supper, Oliver attacks Alice and beats her into a coma.
In the aftermath, as everyone tries to make sense of his astonishing act of savagery, Oliver tells his story. So do those whose paths he has crossed over five decades. What unfolds is a story of shame, envy, breath-taking deception and masterful manipulation.
Only Oliver knows the lengths to which he has had to go to get the life to which he felt entitled. But even he is in for a shock when the past catches up with him.
This book walked away with the Best Crime Fiction Award at the Irish Book Awards in November.   Well deserved, in my opinion, as was my joint overall winner of best book 2014.  A cracking debut that will stay with you, long after the final page is turned...

I read Echoes and Light A Penny Candle by Maeve Binchy some years ago. I remember enjoying them at the time. I'm not familiar withLiz Nugent, but, Unraveling Oliver sounds like a very intriguing story. Thank you for the chance to win this giveaway.
